Getting Started
In order to access the Social Media settings, you must be either a Super Admin or Admin.
To connect Instagram, administrative access is specifically required for the Media > Settings > Social Media section. Your account must meet the following conditions set by Instagram and Facebook in order to connect:
The Instagram account you want to connect must be designated as a business account. For more information about how to set up a business Instagram account, please reference this Meta Business Help Center article.
โThe Instagram account you want to connect must be connected to your organization's Facebook page. For more information about how to connect the two, please reference this Facebook Help article.
โYour organization's Facebook page must be a business page.
If you encounter difficulties setting up your business Instagram account, ensure the account is classified as a "Business" account in Instagram settings and linked to an active Facebook business page synced through Meta tools.
Starting the Connection
Once your accounts meet these conditions, you are ready to connect your Instagram account. First, navigate to Media Settings, and select Social Media.
Connect your account by clicking Connect to Instagram. This will open a Facebook page for you to review the permissions. Once you confirm these permissions, your Instagram account will be connected.
After connecting your account, a drop-down menu will appear above the Connect to Instagram button. Select the appropriate name from the drop-down menu.
Tip: This must be repeated for each school level you are connecting to Instagram, for the additional connections, most permission steps will be skipped since they were confirmed in the first connection.
Adding Additional Instagram Pages
After establishing the connection to Instagram, if you are an Admin of more than one professional page, you will see an additional section, Allowed Pages.
Allowed Pages enables you to select multiple business pages to have as alternative options to your default selected Facebook page used in Live Feed.
Once you have selected additional pages using the square check boxes, a new section will appear in your Live Feed when using Instagram, the section will be labeled Instagram page and will exist between the Post as and Publish button.
Note: Posts directly created in the Instagram app will not appear in the Live Feed as Instagram does not support third-party posting integration.
Admins must first connect Instagram accounts before providing access to teachers. Teachers can then log in to connect their accounts if they have appropriate permissions. Alternatively, admins can share login credentials to streamline the process.
What should I do if I still can't connect Instagram?
Check if you have the correct permissions and whether the Instagram account is properly synced with Facebook settings.
