Live Feed is the best way to quickly reach your audience through multiple channels. Whether it's your website, app, social media, or Alerts, you can send important updates to your community.
Live Feed is designed to share short posts, quick updates, and alerts. For longer stories, articles, and content, use News.
Creating a Live Feed Post
Live Feed enables you to share updates and posts with your community. Live Feed allows you to create a post and share it with your community by publishing it on the channels you select – phone, email, text, website, app, and socials.
To publish a Live Feed post, start by clicking the Create Post button. On the next screen you will be given the option to Select Channels, Add a Message, and Add Images.

On the top of the Create post page in Live Feed, a set of tabs to select channels will appear. Add your text in the Add message field, and your photos you would like in included, in the Add image(s) field. The contents of the message may have different limits or requirements based upon the channels you've chosen.
When adding content to Live Feed, the following format options are available:
Bold
Italics
Ordered and Numbered Lists
Hyperlinks

You can include up to ten photos with your post by clicking the camera icon and selecting pictures from your computer. You will be prompted to enter an Alt text image description for each photo uploaded in order to maintain ADA compliance.
Some channel types may restrict how many photos can be included.

Once have selected the Continue button in the bottom right corner of the Create Post screen you will be able to choose which Profile you want to appear as the author of your post in the Post As section.
Your default Profile will automatically be selected, but you can switch to another Profile by clicking the drop-down arrow or by clicking your Profile picture.
Additional profiles can be created in by clicking your name in Account Settings, accessible by clicking on your profiles name in the top right corner of any page, learn more about Managing your Profile.

Once have selected the Continue button in the bottom right corner of the Create Post screen you will be able to add a Tag. Tags allow your community to easily sort through Live Feed content to find the information most relevant to them. Tagging a post with any applicable filters will allow someone to choose subjects such as "Important News" or "Weather Alerts."
Editing a Live Feed Post
To edit a Live Feed post, click inside the box that surrounds the post.
To edit on the mobile app, you can slide to the left or tap the three dots to access the pencil icon and begin editing your post.

Archiving a Live Feed Post
To Archive a Live Feed post, first click inside the box that surrounds the post.
Next, click the ... button in the top right corner, this will bring up a drop down that includes Archive.
Clicking Yes will then confirm your archival.
Posting to Live Feed Channels
In addition to sending a post to your organization’s Live Feed which is published on your website and app, you can also publish it across different channels at the same time.
Once published, only Live Feed and Facebook will allow you to edit the post within the platform.

Selecting the X icon will send the message created to your connected X feed.
A 280 character limit applies to your posts, and X posts cannot be edited after posting.
Facebook
Selecting the Facebook icon will send the message created to your connected Facebook Page. Facebook is the only social media that allows for editing after a Live Feed post is created.
Instagram
Selecting the Instagram icon will publish the text of your message and 10 selected photos to Instagram. You must add a photo to your message in order to publish to Instagram.
Notifications
Notifications
Selecting the notification icon will send alerts to those who have downloaded your app and accepted push notifications. If users have agreed to receive push notifications, messages will be sent as notification banners on phone home screens.
SMS (Text Messages)
SMS (Text Messages)
Selecting the SMS icon will send your message as a text message to your community whose data is in your recipient lists. Text messages have a character count of 138. Anything that is entered that exceeds this length will be sent as a link that can be clicked on to view the entire message on a web or mobile browser. Images can now be included in texts, they will be available only via the link included in the text message.
Voice Call

Selecting the Voice Call icon will give you the option of creating a text-to-speech message or the option to record/upload an audio message that will be sent in a call to your community.

Email
Selecting the Email icon will give you the option of creating an email message that includes rich text editing options.
Enabling Your Computer's Microphone
In order to send recorded voice calls from Live Feed, a microphone must be setup on your computer and enabled in your web browser.
The first time you navigate to the Live Feed, your web browser will open a prompt asking you to enable your microphone.
Clicking Allow will let the Live Feed and Alerts voice call feature use your computer's microphone so you can record voice calls. If you click Block please see the below instructions for re-enabling your microphone.
Global Posting in Live Feed
Once have selected the Continue button in the bottom right corner of the Create Post screen you will be able to set up Global Posting.
Global Posting allows users who have permissions to multiple organizations to post in Live Feed and News Feed and share them out to all other selected organizations live feed on their homepages automatically.
The feature appears as the ability to select multiple audience locations in the Publish To drop down at the end of the Live Feed creation process.
If social media selected in the original Live Feed and News Feed post is available at the other organization levels that are being Global Posted to, the social media accounts connected to those pages will also send out a post.
The Global Post feature can be enabled by a user who has User Management in the Media step of account setup/editing.
Scheduling a Live Feed Post
Once you are finished creating your message, you will be given the option to Schedule
To schedule the post to publish at a later time or date, select Schedule.
Once you've chosen a time and date select Continue, then Schedule Now.
Types of Scheduling:
To schedule the post to publish at a later time, toggle Start to be on. Select the date and time, and click Continue. This will schedule the post to be sent at the designated time and date.
To schedule the post to Expire, toggle Expire to be on. Select the date and time, and click Schedule. This will schedule the post to be closed at the designated time and date and move it to archive.
Pinning a Live Feed Post
A pinned Live Feed post always displays as if it were the most recent, even if there are other more recent posts.
In the top right corner of each post there will be a Pin post button. This button will pin the post at the beginning of your Live Feed.
To unpin a post you can click the same button which should now say Unpin post, this will cause the post to return to its chronological order in the Live Feed.
