Adding Pages
Site Menu is the area of CMS that allows the user to set up the main navigation they wish to display in the header of their website. Pages can be added to the Site Menu on creation or at any time afterwards from the Pages screen adjusting the menu layout must be done from the Site Menu.
If a page was not added to the Site Menu when it was created, you can add it at any time after by first hovering over the ... option in the Actions column. From the dropdown that opens, select Add to menu. When a page is added to the Site Menu it will appear by default at the bottom of the menu.
If a page is already on the Site Menu, then the option present in the dropdown will change to read Remove from menu.
Adding a Menu Header
Headers serve as descriptive categories and are not clickable—they do not redirect the user to a page or external link. Headers can act as top-level menu items but can also be nested under other headers, pages, or links.
To add a header to your menu, click the Add Menu Item button in the top right of the Site Menu, choose Header, and enter your header name, and click Submit.
Adding Links
In addition to adding Headers or CMS Pages to your Site Menu, you can add custom links to external sites, or even other non-CMS parts of your site (such as dynamic pages like Events or folders in Documents).
It is also possible to add a mailto link which, instead of browsing to a new webpage, will activate the default email client of the user's computer to send an email.
Select the "New Link" icon
To add a link to your site menu click on the Add Menu Item button and select the Link from the drop down menu.
Fill Out Your Link's Information
Text - This field determines how your link will appear in your site menu and your browser tab. Links can be named the same thing and are not unique.
Link - This should be the full URL of the site you're linking to, including http:// or https:// prefixes. You can alternatively type an email address in this space. When visitors click on the link, it functions as a mailto: option. Only one recipient email may be added as a link.
Tip: If you're linking to a page on your site using a relative link the link should always begin with a / .
Parent - Use this drop down menu to place your link in the site menu underneath an existing section, allowing you to place it as you save it.
Open Link in a new tab - If toggled on, a new tab will open automatically when visitors click on the link. This makes it easier to navigate back to the site, and is recommended if the link you're adding directs away from your website.
Publishing and Rearranging Your New Link
After you create your link, it will automatically default to a status "Unpublished." Until published, the link will not be present for visitors to see when they select your site menu.
To rearrange your link, click on its name and, while holding down your mouse, drag and drop the link to its intended location on your site menu. You can nest the link underneath other pages, links, or headers by gently moving your mouse to the right.
Having trouble placing your link? CMS allows for three layers of nesting. If you're having trouble getting your link to stay where you want it to, check how many layers are already present in your menu.
Publish your link by selecting the ... on the far right and choosing "Publish" from your list of options.
Removing a Page
CMS pages can be added or removed to the Site Menu in three different places, depending on where you are working:
Adding/Removing while viewing the Site Menu
Adding/Removing while viewing the Site Menu
To remove a page from the Site Menu, hover over the more option in the Actions column (three dots). From the dropdown that opens, select Remove from menu.
If a page that is removed from the Site Menu has any other items nested underneath it, those items will jump up one level, retaining any subsequent nesting—so 2nd level items will become 1st and 3rd level will become 2nd.
Tip: Archive is different from removing from the Site Menu. A Page is still accessible on the website if it is removed from the Menu, while an Archived Page will not be available to the public.
Adding/Removing while in the page editor

If you are actively editing a Page, you'll be able to remove it from the Site Menu.
To remove a page from the Site Menu, click on the three dots in the upper right hand corner of your editing space. From the dropdown that opens, select Remove from menu.
Tip: Archive is different from removing from the Site Menu. A Page is still accessible on the website if it is removed from the Menu, while an Archived Page will not be available to the public.

If you have selected Pages under the CMS tab, you're viewing a full list of every page on your website. This list includes Pages that are present on the Site Menu, as well as ones that are not.
To remove a Page from the Site Menu, click on the three dots on the far right of a Page's name. From the drop down, select Remove from menu.
We do recommend working from the Site Menu area of CMS, because if a Page that is removed from the Site Menu has any other items nested underneath it, those items will jump up one level, retaining any subsequent nesting—so 2nd level items will become 1st and 3rd level will become 2nd.

Archiving, Rearranging, and Removing
In the Site Menu, you're able to control how visitors experience the public-facing website. There are several edits that can be done from this section.
Archive - Similar to deleting, pages are recoverable by clicking into the Status button at the top of the pages screen. An archived page loses place on the Site Menu.
Rearrange - CMS pages on the Site Menu can be reordered, which includes being able to nest items under other headers. The buttons to the left of the Add Menu Item button can be used to undo and redo changes in the site menu.
Headers, Links, and Pages can be added directly to the level of nesting you want them to fall within by hovering over a current site menu item. While hovering, a plus box will appear in the bottom right corner to let you select which you would like to add.
Remove - A CMS page can live on the website without being present on the Site Menu
To Archive
To archive a page click on the ... in the Actions column. From the dropdown that opens, select Archive
When you archive a page is removed from the Site Menu and is no longer editable or accessible from your website.
Restored Pages will default to Unpublished and will need to be added to the Site Menu again.
Archive a Page on accident? Navigate to the Pages within CMS. Click on Status, and make sure the box for Archived is selected. Locate your page, and click Restore from the Actions column.
