Creating and Publishing the Alert Banner

Alert Banners for your organizations can be managed by navigating to CMS, selecting Settings, and clicking the Alert Banner tab.

From the Alert Banner tab, Super Admins or Admins are able to create, delete, and edit the alert banners content.

Every organization can have their own alert banner enabled, when the top level organization shares a banner with other organizations, two banners will appear on those homepages.

Creating a Banner

The first step in creating a Banner is to select which organizations you would like it to appear on. If you don't see this option, continue to the next step to add text and images

Note: The option to have the banner appear on additional organizations will only be at the top level organization.

Adding Messaging Content

The message content box supports the following formatting:

  • Paragraph styled text (Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, Alignment)

  • Bullet and Number Lists

  • Links and Hyperlinks

Choosing where the alert displays

Display on homepage only

The alert banner will only appear once when a user navigates to the homepage, a first time user coming to your site using a page link will not be shown the banner.

Display on all pages

The alert banner will appear when a user navigates to your homepage or any page underneath of it, even when using a link that goes straight to a non-homepage.

Note: after a user navigates to a page and clicks away from a light box or banner, they will not be shown the alert again unless they refresh the page or open a new tab.

Publishing, Editing, and Drafting the Banner

Alert Banners can be Published or Drafted depending on what your organization needs. After working on your banner, if you aren't ready for it to show up on your site, you can select to save without publishing. This will leave the banner in Draft.

If you would like to publish directly after creating the alert banner, select Publish at the bottom of the page and you will be asked to confirm.

If you would like to Edit, Unpublish, or Delete the Alert Banner you have built, these options can be found at the bottom of the editing screen.
