Events

The Event section is a great place to share when and where upcoming events will take place. Events sections can be connected to a Google or Microsoft Calendar and kept in sync.


Create an Event

To create a new event, click the purple + Create Event button. After clicking the button a page where you can enter all of your events details will appear. Calendar Events can include the following details:

  • Event Name

  • All Day Event (Yes or No)

  • Start Date and Start Time

  • End Date and End Time

  • Recurring Event (Yes or No)

  • Location

  • Event Details

  • Tags (filters)

When you are finished entering details, click the Create Event button at the bottom of the page


Editing an Event

Click on the event you would like to edit and click the Edit button. After you have completed your edits, click on the Update Event button at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.


Creating a Filter

Filters can be created to narrow down content in Live Feed, News, Events, Staff, and Athletics.

Using filters appropriately to tag relevant content while creating a post or event can save your community time and energy when searching for content on your website and/or app.

Each section has its own set of filters.

1. To create a Filter, select the section you want to create a filter for from the drop-down menu.

2. After choosing the section, give the filter a name.

3. Press "Create." Your filter will be added to the bottom of the filter lists in the section you assigned it to.


Renaming, Rearranging, or Deleting a Filter

Renaming:

  1. Click on the name of the filter you want to rename, the text will become editable.

  2. Change the name of the filter by backspacing and retyping what you would like to replace it with.

  3. Click the Submit button or press enter.

Completing these steps will rename the filter in the section where the filter is visible to your community.

Rearranging:

When hovering over a filter name, a textured edge will appear on the left side, click and hold this and move it up and down, this will affect the order of the filter visible to your community.

Deleting:

When hovering over a filter name, a trashcan icon will appear to the right of your selection. Once this selected, you will be prompted to make sure you would like to delete the selected filter.

Warning: if this filter is in removed while in use on Live Feed, News Feed, Staff, Events, or Athletics, searching for content could become more difficult.


Deleting an Event

While viewing the calendar in the Events section, confirm that you are currently looking at the current month of the event you are looking to delete.

If you need to move between months, select the arrows shown to the left and right of the month and year, as you move through months, the events within each month will appear next to the calendar in a list.

Click on the box of the event that you would like to delete and select the Delete button. A popup will appear asking "if you are sure you want to delete this event", select the Delete button.

Tip: If you delete a recurring event (an event scheduled on multiple days), deleting this event through the platform will delete ALL occurrences of that event, not just the one occurring on the selected date.

Warning: If your events calendar is synced with your Outlook or Google Calendar, deleting an event in the platform will also delete the same event(s) on any synced calendars.


Importing Events from a File

Importing events into the platform from an iCal or ICS file will allow you to add information from your calendar into your Events section.

1. While in the Events section, click the "Import iCal" button to browse your computer for the iCal or ICS file you would like to upload.

2. Locate the calendar file you would like to upload from your computer and click "Import."

3. You will then see the message "Event(s) Imported! You'll be able to access it shortly."

The selected calendar data will now appear in your Events section.
