Athletics is a great place to share when and where sporting events in your district are taking place, as well as keeping your community up to date with score information.
Creating an Athletics Event
To create an Athletics Event, first select the sport you will be creating an event for. If you need to add a sport, click the button below to learn more about filters.
Once you have selected the sport you will be creating an event for, click the + Create Event button at the top right-hand side of your screen. Upon selecting Create Event, you will choose the Event Type you would like to create, then click Continue.
1 vs. 1
1 vs. 1
The 1 vs. 1 Event Type is a great option to use for an Athletics Event against two teams, for example: baseball, basketball, or soccer.
When creating a 1 vs. 1 Athletics Event, you will be able to customize the Home Team Name and Score, Away Team Name and Score, the Start Date and Time, and the Location of the sporting event.
Adding the Location of your event will allow users to access turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps.
Once you’ve finished entering the event information, save your event by clicking Submit.
Tournament
Tournament
Tournament is a great option to use when you want to include multiple event titles and score lines in the same event.
When creating a Tournament, you will be able to customize the Event Name and add Score Lines, which can be helpful to display the name of each team competing in the tournament.
You can also customize the Start Date, Time, and the Location of the sporting event. Adding the Location of your event will allow users to access turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps.
Once you’ve finished entering the event information, save your event by clicking Submit.
1 vs. 1 with Multiple Outcomes
1 vs. 1 with Multiple Outcomes
1 vs. 1 with Multiple Outcomes is a great option to use when you have a sporting event with multiple outcomes, for example: tennis or volleyball.
When creating a 1 vs. 1 with Multiple Outcomes event, you will be able to customize the Home Team, Away Team, and add Score Lines, which can be helpful to display the multiple outcomes of the event.
You can also customize the Start Date, Time, and the Location of the sporting event. Adding the Location of your event will allow users to access turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps.
Once you’ve finished entering the event information, save your event by clicking Submit.
Creating a Filter
Filters can be created to narrow down content in Live Feed, News, Events, Staff, and Athletics.
Using filters appropriately to tag relevant content while creating a post or event can save your community time and energy when searching for content on your website and/or app.
Each section has its own set of filters.
1. To create a Filter, select the section you want to create a filter for from the drop-down menu.
2. After choosing the section, give the filter a name.
3. Press "Create." Your filter will be added to the bottom of the filter lists in the section you assigned it to.
Renaming, Rearranging, or Deleting a Filter
Renaming:
Click on the name of the filter you want to rename, the text will become editable.
Change the name of the filter by backspacing and retyping what you would like to replace it with.
Click the Submit button or press enter.
Completing these steps will rename the filter in the section where the filter is visible to your community.
Rearranging:
When hovering over a filter name, a textured edge will appear on the left side, click and hold this and move it up and down, this will affect the order of the filter visible to your community.
Deleting:
When hovering over a filter name, a trashcan icon will appear to the right of your selection. Once this selected, you will be prompted to make sure you would like to delete the selected filter.
Warning: if this filter is in removed while in use on Live Feed, News Feed, Staff, Events, or Athletics, searching for content could become more difficult.
Deleting an Athletics Event
To delete an Athletics Event, first select the sport you will be deleting an event from.
Once you have selected the sport you will be deleting an event from, hover your cursor over the event you intend to delete. Two icons will appear on the right-hand side: a pencil icon, and a trash can icon.
Click the trash can icon to delete the event.
Editing an Athletics Event
To edit an Athletics Event, you will first select the sport you will be editing an event for.
Once you have selected the sport you will be editing an event for, hover your cursor over the event you intend to edit. Two icons will appear on the right-hand side: a pencil icon, and a trash can icon.
Click the pencil icon to edit the event.
Upon clicking the pencil icon, you will be able to quickly update the event score, or make adjustments to the Event Name, Team Names, Event Date, Time, or Location.
Click Submit to save your changes.
Importing Athletic Events from a File
To import Athletics Events from a file, you will first select the sport you want to import your calendar information to. If you need to add a sport, click the button below to learn more about filters.
Once you have selected the sport you will be importing calendar information to, click the Import iCal button at the top right-hand side of your screen to browse your computer for the iCal file you would like to import.
Upon selecting your desired iCal file, click Open to import the calendar information to the selected sport.
