Third-party scheduling platforms like Bound, Rschools, 8 to 18, and ArbiterSports don't connect to the Apptegy Platform directly. However, most of them provide an iCal subscription URL that you can use to pull their schedule into Google Calendar — and from there, sync it into your Apptegy Events section automatically.
This requires Super Admin access in the Apptegy Platform. If you don't see the Sync Calendar option in Media Settings, contact your district Super Admin to complete the final step.
How it works
The process has three parts:
Get the iCal subscription URL from your third-party platform.
Add that URL to Google Calendar using the "Other calendars" subscription feature.
Sync that Google Calendar to your Apptegy Events section.
Once set up, events from the third-party platform will flow through Google Calendar and into Apptegy automatically — no manual imports needed.
Step 1: Get the iCal subscription URL from your third-party platform
In your scheduling/calendar platform, look for an option to export or share the calendar as an iCal feed, iCal link, or subscription URL. The exact label varies by platform:
Bound: look for a "Subscribe" or "iCal" link on the calendar or schedule view.
Rschools: look for an "iCal" or "Subscribe to Calendar" option in your schedule settings.
8 to 18: look for a calendar export or subscription link in the schedule section.
ArbiterSports: look for the iCal or calendar subscription option in your account settings.
Copy the full URL — it will typically end in .ics
Step 2: Add the iCal URL to Google Calendar
This creates a new Google Calendar that subscribes to the third-party schedule and keeps it in sync.
Open Google Calendar.
Click the + icon next to Other calendars in the left sidebar.
Select From URL.
Paste the iCal URL you copied from your third-party platform.
Click Add calendar.
The third-party schedule will now appear as a calendar in your Google Calendar account. Google polls the iCal feed periodically, so updates from the third-party platform may take up to 24 hours to appear.
Step 3: Make the Google Calendar publicly accessible
Apptegy needs to be able to read the calendar in order to sync it. Before connecting, make sure the calendar is set to public:
In Google Calendar, find the new calendar in the left sidebar.
Click the three dots (...) next to the calendar name.
Select Settings and sharing.
Under Access permissions for events, check Make available to the public.
Set the visibility to See all event details.
Step 4: Connect the Google Calendar to Apptegy
In the Apptegy Platform, go to Media Settings.
Click Calendar.
Click the Sync Calendar button in the top right corner.
Select Google and sign in with the Google account that owns the calendar you just created.
Choose the calendar you subscribed to in Step 2.
Select the Apptegy Events section you want it to sync into.
Click Import.
Once connected, events from the third-party platform will appear in your Apptegy Events section and stay up to date automatically.
Only add events directly in the third-party platform — do not manually add or edit those events in Apptegy or Google Calendar. The next sync will overwrite any manual changes.
